The sludge drying unit developed by Maishan Environmental Protection can directly dry sewage or sludge with a moisture content of less than 60% to dry sludge with a moisture content of 25%. The high temperature sludge carbonisation unit can directly carbonise sludge with a moisture content of less than 25% into carbonised sludge with a moisture content of 0%.
In anaerobic or anoxic condition, the water in sludge is evaporated after the sludge is heated, the organic components containing carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen elements in the sludge are dry distilled, and the low molecular substances and oils and other macromolecular substances are volatilised. Due to the evaporation of water and the volatilisation of decomposition gases, numerous small holes are formed on the surface and inside the sludge, which can maximise the evaporation of water in the sludge. After further heating, the organic content continues to decrease and carbonisation proceeds slowly, resulting in a carbonised product rich in fixed carbons, which can reduce the sludge volume by up to 90%.
